Russ Fieger, Colorado Financial Broker, Involved in $325K Dispute

Russ Fieger (CRD# 4122326), a broker registered with Colorado Financial Service Corporation, misrepresented an alternative investment, according to an investor dispute. Pending Dispute Stems from Oil & Gas Investment

On October 3, 2024, a party of investors filed a dispute involving Mr. Fieger. This claim details allegations that he breached his fiduciary duty, misrepresented and omitted material information when selling an alternative investment in an oil and gas product, and impermissibly concentrated the customers’ accounts. The dispute, which is still pending, seeks $325,000 in alleged damages.

Firm Settled Past Dispute

The above-described dispute is not the only one in Mr. Fieger’s past. On December 15, 2010, an investor lodged a claim alleging that he recommended unsuitable investments in over-the-counter equity products. In 2014, his member firm settled the dispute for $86,600.

Specifically, it details a sanction undertaken in 2014 by regulators in Kansas. This action stemmed from allegations that he sold unsuitable exchange-traded funds and breached his fiduciary duty. He was ordered to pay $86,000 in restitution.

As his BrokerCheck record reflects, Mr. Fieger is an investment adviser representative of Colorado Financial Services Corporation. That firm’s website features a section describing its background and mission. “As an independent representative of CFSC, we are committed to your success,” this section reads. “Our approach is to support our financial professionals through the complex regulatory framework and guidance for their clients. By leveraging our expertise, you can grow your practice the way you see fit.”

Mr. Fieger started working as a broker when he registered with Pruco Securities in 2000. Over the subsequent years, he went on to work at a variety of firms. These include Cambridge Investment Research, Crown Capital Securities, and LPL Financial. He joined his current member firm, Colorado Financial Services, in April 2024 and is still a broker at the firm’s Overland Park office today. At the same time, he is an investment adviser at Cornerstone Securities’ office in Overland Park as well. With 24 years of experience as a broker, he has completed five industry exams, including the Series 24 and the Series 7.
