Micah Rayner (CRD# 6252596[1]), a broker registered with Arete Wealth, recommended unsuitable investments, according to recently filed disputes. MDF Law is investigating the Nashville, Tennessee-based financial professional for similar conduct. If you suffered losses in your accounts, contact us for a free, confidential discussion about potential recovery options.
The following post contains additional information about Mr. Rayner’s history as a broker. The details below are sourced from his BrokerCheck profile, a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority record examined on January 28, 2025.
In 2024, ten parties of investors filed disputes involving Mr. Rayner that are still pending. In all ten disputes, the claimants allege that he recommended unsuitable alternative investments. The claims seek more than $2.3 million in alleged damages.
The above-described claims are not the only ones described in Mr. Rayner’s BrokerCheck profile. In 2024, two other parties of investors filed disputes alleging that he unsuitably recommended alternative investments. In these cases, his former member firm settled the allegations for a total of $210,000.
In disclosures regarding the above-described investor disputes, Mr. Rayner issued identical statements defending himself. This “Broker Comment,” appended to each disclosure, asserts that he did not recommend or sell any securities to the claimants. “This customer purchased a product that failed and many claimants attorneys recruited customers who made those purchases to sue,” he wrote. In addition, he argued that he was only being named in the claims because his former firm “went out of business and the customer must have found my name formerly associated” with it. “This is not a legitimate claim against me,” he concluded.
Mr. Rayner started his career as a broker when he registered with Center Street Securities in 2014. He remained at the firm until 2023, when he departed for Arete Wealth Management. As his BrokerCheck profile reflects, he remains at Arete today, based at its office in Nashville, Tennessee. With 10 years of experience as a broker, he has completed five industry exams, including the Series 4 and the Series 27.
