On July 2, 2024, an investor filed a dispute involving Mr. Straub. According to a disclosure on his BrokerCheck record, the claim alleges that he made misrepresentations and unsuitable recommendations relating to a suspense investment account. The dispute, which is still pending, seeks $300,000 in damages.
The above-described pending dispute is not the only one in Mr. Straub’s professional history. In December 2008, another investor lodged a dispute alleging that he made an unsuitable recommendation. The claim sought more than $3,000 in damages and was denied by his firm. “Client claims no damages but has paid $9270 of premium into the policy in question,” reads a “Broker Statement” in his BrokerCheck record. “All allegations have been refunded and my recommendations have been proven suitable and appropriate.”

Based in Haddon Heights, New Jersey, the firm offers securities through Osaic Wealth, according to its website[2]. Brett Straub launched his career as a broker in 1991. That year, he registered with Carillon Investments’ branch office in Cincinnati, Ohio. Over the following years, he went on to work with firms including John Hancock Mutual LIfe Insurance Company, Principal Securities, and SagePoint Financial. He registered as an investment adviser with The Ameriflex Group in 2022, then as a broker with Osaic Wealth in 2023. He is still registered with Osaic and Ameriflex today, based in Haddon Heights, New Jersey.
